We had a great turn out for
the work day at the arena. Thanks to everyone who
showed up. I was sure we had spent 5 hours working and
was surprised to find out that we had only worked for
about 2 and 1/2 hours. Sure was a hot, sticky work
session. But, the place looks much better. Thanks
again ORR members for all the hard work.
And, thanks to a phone call
from Ryan to the pastor of the
Crossbrand Cowboy Church,
we got to have practice after all. Their arena was dry
as a bone. Not only did several of us get to practice,
we had several new shooters get their first taste of
cowboy mounted shooting. What a great day it turned out
to be. Lots of fun, silly fun at times, was well worth
the short ride up there. We sure appreciate the
invite. We now have an open invite to use their arena
anytime. A BIG thanks to Tim (pastor) for his
graciousness.
Hope to see lots of you at
the Clarksville, AR shoot this coming weekend. There
are 2 shoots: one on Saturday and one on Sunday. Then,
the following weekend (Saturday) we will have a practice
at our home arena...let's all do the sun dance starting
on Monday the 14th! Wouldn't it be nice to have some
dry weather?
Remember: If anyone is
coming with a new horse or a new shooter wishes to get
started, please let Ryan, Bob, or Kim know so that we
can set our next practice up a bit earlier. This way we
can set aside a few hours just for you without the
commotion of a regular practice. Then, you can stay and
watch the more experienced shooters. We will always do
our utmost to assist entry level riders and horses.
